Modern Admin Weekly | Issue No.018
Hi — Liz here. 👋🏾
This summer has been an interesting time to job hunt. At first, I thought there'd be a shortage of roles. Instead, I've been pleasantly surprised by the variety of titles and the salaries that validate them.
Today, we have our first Administrative Coordinator role coming in at six figures
In contrast, there was a role I purposefully omitted calling itself an Executive Assistant position, but expected someone to support a six-person C-suite for a mere $75K a year.
No thank you.
Discernment is key, and thankfully, that's my favorite pastime.
Let's get into it.
🔎 How We Curate
Every role featured in Modern Admin meets the following criteria:
🧑🏽💻 Flexibility First — remote and hybrid roles that reflect how modern teams operate
💰 Compensation Transparency — if a company knows their budget, so should you
🤝 Culture Check — we look beyond reviews to assess leadership, tone, and reputation
🗂 Role Integrity — titles should match scope (no inflated or misleading roles)
🗓️ Recency — we prioritize fresh opportunities (~2 weeks)
01. Chief of Staff
LIFT
$200K–$225K
Remote (US) | Full-Time
Posted July 18 2026
LIFT is hiring a Chief of Staff to partner closely with the CEO while helping guide strategy, operational planning, and cross-functional alignment across a growing national nonprofit. This isn't a traditional executive support role. It's designed for an experienced operator who enjoys moving between long-term planning, executive decision-making, and day-to-day execution. From coaching regional Executive Directors to leading organization-wide initiatives, the scope of this role reflects just how influential today's Chiefs of Staff have become. Worth noting: LIFT specifically calls out the ability to "zoom out" for strategy and "zoom in" for execution, a hallmark of today's strongest Chiefs of Staff.
02. Sr. Executive Assistant
GitLab
$85K–$160K
Remote (US) | Full-Time
Posted July 22 2026
Supporting multiple senior leaders takes more than exceptional organization. It requires sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to create clarity in fast-moving environments. GitLab is hiring a Senior Executive Assistant to support two Vice Presidents within its Chief Revenue Officer organization, helping manage everything from complex calendars and global travel to recruiting coordination and team operations. What stood out to us is the emphasis on acting as a strategic thought partner, advising leaders on priorities and protecting their time rather than simply managing logistics. Worth noting: GitLab continues to position AI as a core expectation across every role, reinforcing that AI fluency is quickly becoming part of the modern executive support toolkit.
03. Administrative Coordinator
Amgen
$80K–$120K + equity
Remote (US) | Full-Time
Posted July 21 2026
Behind every breakthrough in healthcare is a team that keeps the work moving. Amgen is hiring an Administrative Coordinator to support Executive Directors, Directors, and cross-functional teams within its Precision Medicine organization. While the role includes many of the core responsibilities you'd expect, including executive support, travel, and meeting coordination, it also offers the opportunity to partner across research, vendors, and global teams to help keep a complex scientific organization running smoothly. Worth noting: Amgen is looking for someone who can anticipate challenges before they arise, reinforcing that proactive problem-solving has become just as valuable as strong organizational skills in today's administrative roles.
04. Senior Manager, People Technology & Analytics
Headway
$170K–$225K + equity
Remote (US) | Full-Time
Posted July 23 2026
As People teams grow, so does the need for better systems—not just more people. Headway is looking for a Senior Manager, People Technology & Analytics to lead the evolution of its People infrastructure through analytics, automation, and AI-native operations. The role sits at the intersection of People, IT, and Engineering, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building the operational foundation that allows a company to scale. Worth noting: Rather than layering AI onto existing processes, Headway is building it directly into the foundation of how its People team operates—a philosophy we're starting to see more frequently among forward-thinking companies.
05. People Strategy & Operations (Early Career)
Notion
$85K–$120K + equity
Hybrid (SF) | Full-Time
Posted July 23 2026
Notion is hiring a People Strategy & Operations professional to support high-impact initiatives across employer brand, internal mobility, and global onboarding while helping the People team operate with greater clarity and momentum. This is an ideal role for an early-career operator who enjoys turning ambiguity into action, partnering across teams, and building processes that scale. What stood out to us is how intentionally broad the scope is, giving one person exposure to nearly every corner of the employee experience while learning alongside senior People leaders. Worth noting: Notion isn't just looking for someone who's comfortable using AI—they're looking for someone who actively champions AI adoption across the People team, a skill that's quickly becoming a differentiator for modern People Ops professionals.
06. Manager II, Escalation Operations
$120K–$248K + equity
Remote (US) | Full-time
Posted July 24 2026
Keeping a platform safe takes far more than enforcing policies. It requires thoughtful leaders who can navigate complex situations, make difficult decisions, and bring teams together when the stakes are high. Pinterest is hiring a Manager II, Escalation Operations to lead a Trust & Safety team responsible for investigating high-priority issues, improving operational processes, and partnering with teams across Legal, Product, Communications, Sales, and Data Science. The role blends people leadership with operational strategy, making it an excellent fit for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems while building scalable systems. Worth noting: Pinterest expects this team to use AI as part of its investigation process, reinforcing that AI is becoming a practical tool for decision-making, not just productivity.

A small thing…
To keep track of all the “small things” that make life a tiny bit easier, I’ve curated a small store where you can find all of my recommendations to date.
My latest small thing? Summer Fridays Iced Coffee Lip Butter Balm which was kindly gifted to me from a client to celebrate the start of Summer Fridays ☀ .
I'm usually the person with a tiny tube of Vaseline in her tote, but this might have converted me. It's smooth, non-sticky, keeps my lips moisturized, and the yummy taste is just an added bonus. (affiliate link)
Until next time, stay modern.
